Moving Tips for Pawrents – Pawfect Day

Moving to a new house, whether it be in a new city or the same one, can be a lengthy and stressful process. Dogs, cats and other pets can pick up on the stressful energy and mirror it if we’re not careful. They can be unsure as to why you are moving around your belongings and may feel uneasy about whether or not they are going to be involved in the transition.

There are a few things you can do before, during and after a move to help your small friend adjust to the changing situation. Spending more quality time with your pet, having some boxes out before the actual move and crate training them if they will be spending time in a car are helpful ways to prepare your pet for a relocation.

When moving day arrives, make sure your furry friend is safe by being either crated or at a friend or family member’s house. You can minimize their stress with their favorite toy and you should make sure they have their tags on—just in case.

The moving experts at HireAHelper put together a list of helpful tips that pawrents can use to keep their fur babies calm, safe and happy during a move. You can see it below!
